A wealth of experience

2021 : Founded a pride center

Eli is an experienced organizer. Beginning in 2019, Eli began to lay the groundwork for an organized queer culture in rural California. He began the first gender-diverse support group in Merced and ran it on a volunteer basis for three years. He built a roster of supporters and volunteers, coalescing into the Merced Pride Center in 2021.

2017 : Writing published

Among Eli’s first published works were an article about transgender surgeries for Sonoma Medicine, and zines that continue to be sold and featured at shops around the country, published by Microcosm publishing. Since then, he has continued to write medical articles for MyHealthTeam.

2016 : Changed careers

After 15 years in the hospitality industry, Eli changed careers towards nursing, after an experience as a caregiver in Australia in 2011. He has worked in a variety of settings as an RN, including with transgender patients at Santa Rosa Community Health.
